Senior Accountant

JazzHR is searching for a highly motivated and resourceful thinker to join our growing Finance team.  The Senior Accountant will be a key member of the team and will be responsible for all aspects of the Revenue to Collections process.  The Senior Accountant reports to the Controller and will work closely with members of the Customer Support and Sales teams regularly.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Managing the administration of all financial transactions with the goal of minimizing bad debt, improving cash flow, implementing company procedures, generating accurate reports, analyzing trends, and making recommendations to senior management.
  • Managing the day-to-day billing operations within the Department ensuring that all information is accurate and timely.
  • Drafting policies and procedures, preparing workflow charts for all aspects of the Revenue Cycle function including, billing, and cash posting.
  • Monitoring and advising the finance team regarding the value and collectability of accounts receivable and make recommendations and procedures to keep Days of Revenue in AR at acceptable levels.
  • Implementing and monitoring collection procedures, minimizing contractual and bad debt write-offs, and maximizing cash collections.  Working in collaboration with the Sales Organization to resolve delinquent customer payments.
  • Performing root cause analysis for all escalated issues and collaborate with other teams to determine solutions.
  • Creating and managing databases, reporting, analytics, and applications that support critical business operations functions and audits while facilitating process improvements
  • Preparing monthly journal entries and account reconciliations as well as schedules for annual audit
  • Preparing monthly schedules and reconciliations for our partner accounts
  • Assisting the department with special projects as needed.
  • Performing misc. administrative tasks and Ad Hoc reporting.

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • 5+ years of accounting and finance or related experience
  • Desire to improve performance, services and outcomes
  • Working knowledge of:
    • Quickbooks
    • Salesforce
    • Bill.com
    • Credit Card programs
    • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Highly professional attitude with effective verbal & written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and project planning skills
  • Adaptability, with a willingness to change and seek improvement
  • An appetite to learn quickly and overcome obstacles
  • Strong business judgment, integrity, work ethic and ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively across the organization

This key position will be based in Waltham, MA or Pittsburgh, PA and requires candidates to be able to work from one of our offices when necessary.
